Welcome from the Directors Helen Archer and Sarah Whitman
We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) which is a not for Profit Organisation, all monies are invested back into the Company to increase our training, purchase new equipment and toys and play experiences that we can offer the children without having to pass the costs onto parents, such as Forest Arts Forum theatre days, Coda Music Club, Cricket & Tennis coaches, Bouncy Castle fun days in the School Holidays, Visits from Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hampshire Ambulance and Hampshire Fire & Rescue.
Our sessions are based on the Principles of Play Work, so our staff are there to facilitate play opportunities. We have boundaries and Club rules that the children will work on with the staff and that we will all buy into. We have planned activities on offer for each session, although we do support Free Play where the children can access equipment and resources to create their own activities and games, we promote friendship and creativity with arts & crafts, inside and outside games, a quiet corner and a wide range of toys, construction equipment, role play and limited use of a computer or play station. Our equipment is suitable for a variety of ages as we are well used to the different needs of KS1 children to KS2 children, we will operate a buddy system for children to help each other settle in and find activities that they enjoy.
We will offer a homework club 2 days per week to allow children to complete this in a supportive and quiet environment before coming home.
We will offer outside activities and have outside equipment for the Children to use, we will try to have as many outside activities on offer as weather permitting or use of the sports hall if needed. Children will be wearing High Visibility jackets whilst playing outside and will always be supervised by our team of staff. We work above and beyond the Ofsted guidelines of 1 staff for every 30 children by providing on average where possible a 1 to 8 ratio. All or our staff are qualified or working towards a fully recognised child care qualification (minimum level 2) and have Paediatric first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding and behaviour management.
You will receive a full parent/carers manual detailing more information on the services we offer and explaining our policies in more detail.
