Sessions

Our sessions are based on the Principles of Play Work, so our staff are there to facilitate play opportunities. We have boundaries and Club rules that the children will work on with the staff and that we will all buy into. We have planned activities on offer for each session, although we do support Free Play where the children can access equipment and resources to create their own activities and games, we promote friendship and creativity with arts & crafts, inside and outside games, a quiet corner and a wide range of toys, construction equipment, role play and limited use of a computer or play station. Our equipment is suitable for a variety of ages as we are well used to the different needs of KS1 children to KS2 children, we will operate a buddy system for children to help each other settle in and find activities that they enjoy.

Homework club

We will offer a homework club to allow children to complete this in a supportive and quiet environment before coming home.

Activities and Equipment

We will offer outside activities and have outside equipment for the Children to use, we will try to have as many outside activities on offer as weather permits or use of the sports hall if needed. Children will be wearing High Visibility jackets whilst playing outside and will always be supervised by our team of staff. We work above and beyond the Ofsted guidelines of 1 staff for every 30 children by providing on average where possible a 1 to 10 ratio. All or our staff are qualified or working towards a fully recognised child care qualification (minimum level 2) and have Paediatric first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding and behaviour management.

Parents Manual

You will receive a full parent/carers manual detailing more information on the services we offer and explaining our policies in more detail.

Our daughter attends the club three days a week, she always enjoys attending and looks forwards to seeing the friends that she has made there. She loves the activities and is always excited when she has received a well done badge or treat for helping. The staff are always happy, smiling and helpful. I would happily recommend the club to anyone who asks.

Medstead After School Club is fantastic. Adam loves it, the activities are fun, the snacks are much needed and he often doesn’t want to come home. Thank you to the 2 fantastic Jo’s.

Excellent after school club. Kids are very happy here and enjoy coming each week. It will be sad for my eldest leaving this year for Senior School.
